Pre-match analysis LCS NA Spring Split 2015 | Week 1 – Day 2

Match #1: TEAM DIGNITAS vs. TEAM IMPULSE(Jan 25th, 12:00 PM PST/ 3:00 PM EST/ 9:00 PM CET)

It will be very interesting to see just how much Dignitas and Impulse has improved after their first day in the LCS Stage. This is where all of their careful observations from all the teams come to play. Impulse especially XiaoWeiXiao is known to be very careful with his lane opponent at first and study their moves and once he gets to understand how his opponent play, he surprises them with counterplay. Shiphtur and XiaoWeiXiao have already met each other in the Rift before but after a few months without contact, they will surely bring in new strategies that will try to help them win their lanes and win the game. Complete Dragon control is the key to Dignitas winning the game but it will be a lot of tougher to play out for Dignitas since Crumbz is not known to be good at securing objectives.

Substitutes: Team Impulse: Rhux for Impact (Top Lane)

Prediction: Without dragon control, Dignitas will have a tough time against Impulse. Crumbz needs to step his game up this time and take control of the jungle through proper vision and allow his team to dominate in lane through careful Dragon control.

Match #2: TEAM COAST vs. WINTERFOX

(Jan 25th, 1:00 PM PST/ 4:00 PM EST/ 10:00 PM CET)

Both teams are still trying to know where they lie in the standings and this is the perfect opportunity to test the waters. Winterfox already knows what it wants from the team but Coast will have to try new strategies to defeat Winterfox. This is where the pick and ban phase will most likely be the point of access for Coast to win the game. If they can ban out Altec’s pool of go to champions, they will surely have a better chance of winning the game especially as there are two subs on team Winterfox. But most likely Team Coast will have a tough time during the laning phase.

Substitutes: Team Winterfox: Flaresz for Avalon (Top Lane) | ShorterACE for Helios | (Jungle)

Prediction: It all boils down to the pick and ban phase for Coast if they want to win.

Match #3: TEAM LIQUID vs. COUNTER LOGIC GAMING

(Jan 25th, 2:00 PM PST/ 5:00 PM EST/ 11:00 PM CET)

Without Zionspartan, a crippled CLG already have the disadvantage and it will most likely carry through in the following weeks. Liquid should take advantage of this and bring their A game in this match up even with Piglet missing.

Substitutes / Missing: Team Liquid: KEITHMCBRIEF for Piglet (ADC) | CLG: ZionSpartan (Top Lane) (most likely replaced by Benny)

Prediction: Liquid has all the cards in this match but they need to find the right momentum in order to win this game.

Match #4: TEAM IMPULSE vs. TEAM LIQUID (Jan 24th, 3:00 PM PST/ 6:00 PM EST/ 12:00 AM CET)

Most of the games this week will play out as “let’s watch and see how it turns out” before all hell breaks loose in the second week. It will be all about learning how to adapt with the current status of the game and if there is one team that knows when and how to adapt to the current playstyle of their enemies, it’s Cloud 9. Cloud 9’s experience in the Rift will surely play a huge role when it comes to dealing with Gravity.

Prediction: Cloud 9 takes 2 wins this week.

Match #5: TEAM 8 vs. TEAM SOLOMID(Jan 25th, 4:00 PM PST/ 7:00 PM EST/ 1:00 AM CET)

Eventually, TSM versus Team8 closes out the first week of the North American LCS. Team 8 will have a lot to learn in this week as they will surely struggle against veteran teams. However, if there is one thing that Team 8 should learn is to be patient. The team has a lot of potential with regards to its current lineup but it will take time for them to find the right synergy and the right amount of strategy to win games. They will need to find their footing but it will take some time before they do. Hopefully, they can find it before it is too late though so no pressure there.

Prediction: TSM rounds out the week with a win.
