Preview and Predictions LCS EU Week 4
Week 3 came out in full swing with surprises and disappointments coming from all sides. SK Gaming surprised everyone with a Nidalee pick and supplied the opposing teams with enough pressure to crumble in fear. Overall Nidalee made a lot of jungle appearances since the buffs in the 5.2 patch. Meanwhile, Fnatic finally showed their crack and Elements continue to try to seek their potential that they’ve reach last year. As Week 4 looms near, things once again heat up as top teams begin to crumble while the bottom teams slowly claw their way back up top. Will this tip the scale for SK and Fnatic who have seen the glory of victory or will Gambit, MYM, and even Giants Gaming finally see the light of day by bringing in more wins for the team? Here’s the preview for week 4 of the EU LCS Spring Split 2015.
Pre-match analysis LCS EU Spring Split 2015 | Week 4 – Day 1
Match #1: GIANTS GAMING vs. GAMBIT GAMING
(Feb 12, 9:00 AM PST/ 12:00 PM EST/ 6:00 PM CET)
Gambit enjoyed quite a good week last week as they were able to finally win a game. P1noy continues to be the saving grace of the team. During their match last week, once P1noy was on the roll, the team would be able to survive teamfights and secure an objective. P1noy’s ability to hide from his team mates once a fight ensues allows him to survive and kite priority targets and turn the tide of the battle to their favor. With that, P1noy is a marked man. People will soon be on to him. Giants have a fairly decent laning phase but their teamfighting ability has been abysmal so far.
Prediction: Gambit takes the momentum from last week and decides to roll with it this week. A win for the Russian squad.
Match #2: H2K vs. ELEMENTS
(Feb 12, 10:00 AM PST/ 1:00 PM EST/ 7:00 PM CET)
Both teams have a fairly equal laning phase with a bit of an advantage to Elements for having been playing together for the past couple of years. However, Elements suffered greatly from pick compositions when Nyph and Shook went out of their way and got assassinated in an instant during their games last week. Elements should stick with what they know best and that is to fight on a 5 v 5 scale. Elements are good with extended teamfights but when one person goes down, everything follows for them hence a good pick composition from H2k would mean a lot to their win.
Prediction: Elements might be in trouble if they continue to play like they did last week. But overall edge Elements.
Match #3: MEET YOUR MAKERS vs. FNATIC
(Feb 12, 11:00 AM PST/ 2:00 PM EST/ 8:00 PM CET)
Fnatic suffered their first loss last week but bounced back to the gain a win. However, during their loss, their blatant arrogance and miscalculations were on point. Yellowstar would initiate teamfights with his Annie when his team have not even set themselves up. This mistake from the captain is a dangerous game to play. However, they were able to pick themselves up by scoring another win last week. MeetYourMakers continue to flounder around and now is the time they really need to pick up the pace as we are finally approaching the middle point of the split.
Prediction: MYM might start to think about the future of their team if they want to continue to play in the LCS Stage. Fnatic wins.
Match #4: UNICORNS OF LOVE vs. ROCCAT
(Feb 12, 12:00 PM PST/ 3:00 PM EST/ 9:00 PM CET)
Unicorns of Love were able to provide enough pressure to their game against Fnatic. They were able to steamroll their way to victory by playing the map carefully. They arrange their positioning so that they are able to come up ahead of Fnatic who was clearly trying to make something out of their disposition in the game. Fnatic had the lead early on but after a few teamfights, the bets were off and the Unicorns were on their way to victory. However, Unicorns are only good when they have the momentum but as with their game against the Wolves, when the momentum is not in their favor, they immediately lose focus and the game slowly slips into their hands. Roccat is a team that knows how to take advantage of such team hence they are far more likely to win this match than the Unicorns.
Prediction: Roccat wins.
Match #5: COPENHAGEN WOLVES vs. SK GAMING
(Feb 12, 1:00 PM PST/ 4:00 PM EST/ 10:00 PM CET)
If there is one team that seem to be invincible right now – it’s SK. Their utter dominance in lane after the acquisition of Fox allowed them to win teamfights. Unlike Jesiz who seem to like to farm up towards the late game, Fox knows when to pull the trigger and start killing people left and right. He does not need to farm heavily on minions as he prefers to farm champions instead. With the Wolves in their hands, SK continues their winning streak on the first day of Week 4.
Prediction: One more win for SK.
Pre-match analysis LCS EU Spring Split 2015 | Week 4 – Day 2
Match #1: H2K vs. ROCCAT
(Feb 13, 9:00 AM PST/ 12:00 PM EST/ 6:00 PM CET)
Roccat’s two victories over the past week will help them continue their momentum this week as they will be facing H2K. Although H2K has a legendary midlaner, it seems that the team itself is only holding Ryu back to become what he was during the time when he and Faker were rivals. This time, Ryu is set back to having mediocre team mates and if it is not remedied by either him going back to Korea, he needs to find a better team that is suited for his skills.
Prediction: H2K can only hope that some changes happen soon. Edge Roccat
Match #2: SK GAMING vs. GIANTS GAMING
(Feb 13, 10:00 AM PST/ 1:00 PM EST/ 7:00 PM CET)
This one seems to be a no-brainer considering just how strong SK has become in this split.
Prediction: SK Gaming wins another game and ends up having 8 wins 0 losses after week 4.
Match #3: GAMBIT GAMING vs. ELEMENTS
(Feb 13, 11:00 AM PST/ 2:00 PM EST/ 8:00 PM CET)
Elements’ time in the LCS this split has been meddling so far. They win games through methodical matches but they have been unexciting so far. Surely they want to excite their fans by bringing in a Riven jungle or anything that makes the game more interesting. A win is still a win though but you need to put a stamp on the game to make it more exciting. As a team, Elements know how to work around their kinks but they need to show a way to make their mark in every game. Gambit can pull off amazing picks but they do not know how to maintain their lead which makes it interesting for both teams.
Prediction: This time though, people would want to root for Gambit to win this match if and only if they pull off some odd picks during the pick and ban phase. Edge Elements
Match #4: COPENHAGEN WOLVES vs. FNATIC
(Feb 13, 12:00 PM PST/ 3:00 PM EST/ 9:00 PM CET)
With Fnatic’s ongoing dominance over their games, the Wolves will surely cower their way back. Huni and Reignover have been killing it over the top lane and jungle and Yellowstar seemed to be the star of the bottom lane with his great plays. If they can avoid making the same mistakes like they did with their game against Unicorns of Love then they are back on track.
Prediction: Fnatic scores another win.
Match #5: MEET YOUR MAKERS vs. UNICORNS OF LOVE
(Feb 13, 1:00 PM PST/ 4:00 PM EST/ 10:00 PM CET)
If there is one game that remains to be unpredictable this week, it would be Unicorns of Love against MeetYourMakers. The former Supa Hot Crew team has not been what they used to be ever since the start of the Season 5 split. Last year, they would have been dominating the games but the sudden change of organization might mean something for the team as they have been downplaying their games all of a sudden. MrRalleZ is not visible in any of his games. Although he has been farming up quite heavily, the meta has shifted once more to having more dominant AD carries in lane instead of the heavy farmers.
Prediction: The Unicorns might pull this one off.
